This Floor Clock has SOLID CATALPA wood case construction. Catalpa, known for it's beautiful grain pattern, and it is grown in the Southern USA. This elegant Grandfather clock has rare Crotch Mahogany Burls not only on the Front Crown and base but on the top and Bottom Sides as well. The corner accents on the door are also Mahogany veneer. Unique FULLY turned and fluted columns are offset from the case front to show the depth. The oval door has a full one inch bevel glass front. The base is made of 3 separate frames and intricately shaped offering details not readily found at this price point. Hinged side access doors and Double locking front doors are standard. The Brushed Pewter dial with cast raised corners and applied 1.2 mm thick solid brass numerals are surrounded by a solid wood dial frame. The 270 mm (10 5/8"e;) Twisted Lyre pendulum also has a matching cast Center design. A mirror in the back of the case reflects the light from the internal light fixture which helps show off the beautiful German Triple chime mechanical movement. This clock will play your choice of Westminster, Whittington or St Michaels chimes, progressively each quarter hour with the traditional separate hour count. The Mystic also has a subsidiary seconds hand and fully working rotating lunar moon phase dial that shows the phases of the moon each month.
